It's astounding, time is fleeting

So another week has passed and there's only 2 (TWO!) left before we leave the country. Everything is starting to feel a little bit surreal. Loads of admin left to do, and loads of folk left to see.

This weekend we went out with Stu's sister and her husband to The Wharf in Teddington. It was very very very nice indeed. They very generously treated us - on the condition that we return the favour once we were in Brisbane. "Oh No" I thought - "now we're going to have to spend a lot of time researching restaurants once we get there to make sure we take them to a nice one." Although that task might not be so much fun, as I have decided to try and give up meat (again) after our wedding anniversary (can't face the thought of a celebratory dinner without meat!). I'm sure I will lapse as I am a total carnivore, but hey I'll give it a whirl.

Sunday was a nice lunch out with my brother and the old folks for mothers day. I tell you what, leaving the country certainly seems to be preceded by an awful lot of eating and drinking. Even I am getting a little tired of it.

Have planned a few touristy jaunts out with the old lady this week which should be nice. Going to Harrods tomorrow, I don't think I've ever been so I am very excited. Although already stressing out about what to wear....

Campaign of the Week

I have just been on a slightly boozy lunch with my dearly beloved, and before my mid-afternoon hangover sets in I wanted to urge you all to do this:

Only takes 2 seconds.

I've got 21 days to go, I've got 21 days to go

Well, in 3 weeks time we will have just taken off, and will be wending our slow and steady way over to the other side of the world. Which reminds me I really must get to the quacks for some sedatives - don't fly without them kids!

The first week or so in London at the old folks' home has gone well. We went down to the west country for the weekend to catch up with a few folk - thank you very much for your hospitality wurzels. A word to the wise - if you ever find yourself in the Plymouth travelodge on a friday night take either a - earplugs, b - sedatives, or c - the will to stay awake until about 4 am. I had none of the above and was about ready to burn down the local bar at about 2am.

We've had a few cat updates from their new family, and they're doing really well by all accounts. We're still missing them very much, but at least I've now stopped crying about it (for those of you who know me well, imagine all the tears you've ever seen me shed, add them all together, and you'll just about be able to picture the state of me the day the kittens left us).

So still a few boxes to sort through, plenty more people to see. I'm just about to send out an email to everyone letting them know that I'm doing this blog, so let's expect a bit of pisstaking too shall we?

So the page doesn't look too empty..

Not a lot to say for myself today. Have just created this here blog thing to keep folk updated on the process of moving down under, and any following adventures. I don't like an empty page, so would rather fill it with nothing for the time being!

A proper post to come soon I'm sure.
